Library and Archive
The KOG library is open to the public and has open stacks of noncirculating materials. It focuses on German and East Central European art from the nineteenth to the twenty-first centuries. The library holds circa 23,000 volumes, including important reference works, exhibition catalogs, and monographs on artists. There are also catalogs from auctions and antiquarians as well as art and culture journals available.
The library is a member of the Bayerischer Bibliotheksverbund (BVB; Bavarian Library Association). Its holdings can be searched online in the Regensburg Catalog (OPAC) of the University of Regensburg and are identified by the location code 9990.
Catalogs published for exhibitions shown at the KOG can be found on the Publications page. Most of them can be ordered from our online shop, if they are not sold out. The overview goes back to 2010. If you have questions about older museum publications, please contact the library.
The adjoining archive offers information to varying degrees on circa 4,400 artists. In addition to artists whose works are represented in the KOG collection, you will also find other names here that belong to the museum’s collecting focus. The archive collects artists’ estates, media reports, and ephemera.
